Valleyarm Records offers support to newly-signed Greenthief, as votes build for ‘Vultures’ in Triple J Hottest 100 Countdown.

greenthief New Signing to Valleyarm Records: Greenthief The bone-shattering sounds of local rockers Greenthief have provided the soundtrack to success this season, as Valleyarm Records signs on in their pursuit of the Triple J Hottest 100 Countdown; the most sought-after independent and international music vote in the country. The Brisbane three-piece have received unprecedented success from their first single, Vultures, and it is this track which has landed them a spot in the prestigious 2011 shortlist.

Having received support from many local labels and established acts, the trio looks forward to communicating with their fan-base as the voting season draws to a close. Their continuing presence on Triple J’s nationwide broadcast is a testament to their growing influence on the national alternative rock scene.

Lead singer and guitarist Julian Schweitzer soars through the intricate melodies provided by the raw and flawless hybrid of fuzzed-out bass (Tom Abbott) and complex, convoluted drum loops (Steve Tyssen); the final product paying homage to the emerging post-hardcore scene while staying true to the unique sensibilities of old school melodic rock. ‘Vultures’ is available for purchase on iTunes, and is a sound not to be overlooked by connoisseurs of raw, true, post-modern originality.
