Ponglangsa-on Tour Wrap UpAugust 30, 2010

Thai Comedy act Ponglangsa-on kicked off their Australian tour with a concert in Sydney’s Luna Park on Sunday 29 August. They continued on to wrap up their tour at the Dallas Brooks Centre in Melbourne on Monday 30 August.

Sensational Thai band Ponglangsa-On wowed Thai audiences who were laughing non-stop for their debut Australian tour this weekend. Part comedy, part music, part dance but all fun, Ponglangsa-On is a worldwide cultural phenomenon and Australia were able to see them for the first time presnted by Valleyarm.

Ponglangsa-on is not a band that knows how to do things small. The glamourous band is fronted by La-La, Lu-lu and Eed, (a male singer who enjoys his plaid mini skirts too!). The threesome were joined onstage by another twenty-two gorgeous Thai dancers strutting their stuff decked out in feathers, sequins, more mini skirts, traditional Thai costumes and other amazing costumes. Ponglangsa-on combined traditional Thai folk music with contemporary rock and pop, mixed together with ethnic Thai dress with modern fashion.

The award-winning band are huge in their homeland Thailand, as well as in Cambodia and Laos. Recent tours to the US, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, France, Norway and Denmark also proved that Ponglangsa-on are a hit with American and European audiences as well.

Sydney was treated to celebrity impersonations of Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and more. And it all finished with a patriotic display of Thai national colours and costumes.

This was the largest Australian tour for a Thai band ever, and Ponglangsa-on did not disappoint with their unforgettably funny, music comedy stage show!
