Tripomatica; the cause and solution to every well deserved hangover. These boys definitely know how to party and the best thing is you’re invited to each and every one of them. About a dozen DJs hailing from Indonesia travel the world in search of the most obscure of obscure venues, set up shop and the rest, well, is pretty much a blur.

The Tripomatica DJs recently dropped by Melbourne and the Tripomatica party continued from a luxurious boat cruise to an abandoned warehouse on the eve it were to be abolished. Obscurity is their middle name and they’re not afraid to say it. We had a chat to Hendy Kana about cutting edge concepts, vintage market stalls and the universal language that is music.

Hi there Tripomatica! How was your weekend?

Pretty full on, we just had our BoatHOUSE event plus the after party that went all through from Saturday afternoon till Sunday morning.

Describe what you do to the simpletons of the world.

We make dance events at cutting edge venues.

How does performing on a boat differ to performing on land?

Well on a boat you have to plan and make sure every single aspect is correct from the event rundown to the amount of patrons. If a guest is bored on a boat, they cannot go home whereas at a club they can simply leave. Therefore, you have to make sure the event is entertaining for the whole boat cruise.

Valleyarm’s ultimate party would involve some sweet tunes, party poppers and a bunch of friends with good vibes. What’s yours?

Tripomatica events are always about something new. Whether that be a new unused venue such as abandoned warehouses, boat cruises, secret roof top etc. We always want our guests to get a new experience and not just a normal clubbing event. We also tend to do breakthrough concepts such as combining vintage markets stalls at our warehouse party, or bringing down local underground bands to play on our boat cruise while DJs rock up the main room. So basically our ultimate party would involve cutting edge event concepts.

You’ve brought your live show to cities all over the world. What’s your favourite place to play and why?

Melbourne would be our favorite place due to its diversity. We could be playing at a venue in Melbourne and the guests would come from all over the world. All these different nationalities partying in one same language, which is dance music.

Who’s on your playlist?

Too much to say since we are a collective of around 10 DJs.

Tripomatica has a tight-knit community. Is this your secret to having a firm hold on the electronic dance scene?

We try to make sure our crowd feels totally comfortable. There are plenty other players in the dance scene, therefore by giving the most to our crowd would ensure them to be loyal to our events. If you come to any of our parties, you can see that most of our crowd knows each other. It’s pretty much like family. We are also very open to new comers, thus our family gets bigger each event.

With every event you put on larger crowds are drawn and there’s a general incline of presence with what you do. How ever will you outdo yourselves this time?

We just have to keep thinking forward. We keep ourselves updated with parties all around the world to see what’s out there. Ideas for new events will just come.

Favourite drink?

Jack D Coke.

Favourite bar/club?

Revs, 161 (after 3am).

Favourite album?

Too many to say.

Favourite hairstyle?

Afro.

What’s on the cards for the rest of the year?

You have to keep checking our  website  or our  Facebook page to know!

Any last words?

Be a Party Animal.
